Flowerpot Point
A downloadable RPG
Massive pillars of rock stand watch over a forgotten bay of brackish water, carved by the winds and the endless tides. A rickety patchwork of nets and ladders stretch from a village atop one of these formations to the ocean floor exposed at low tide, providing a brief window of access to the rest of the world.
At high tide, the villagers take to their boats, fishing for marlbacks and succulent jabbites. At low tide, with the mud and knotted seaweeds exposed, they rake for the elusive chalk clams with their potent shells, keeping an ear bent for the inevitable bore of the returning sea.
At its best, serene; at its worst, isolating; life on Flowerpot Point is as repetitive and inevitable as the tides that govern its citizens. That's what makes it an ideal place to bury your secrets―no one wants to disturb the rhythm of life, and anything that gets uncovered is buried by the next high tide.
Recently, villagers' dreams have been disturbed by resonant croaking, but everyone is content to attribute it publicly to "one of those things", and only privately begin to seek a remedy.
Flowerpot Point is a micro-setting for the world of Cloud Empress (but fairly system agnostic) inspired by the Bay of Fundy in the Canadian Maritimes.
